Face it, there are not many of us that are
born with the type of bodies touting the latest diet programs or the
svelte models showcasing the latest exercise machine. Most of them
don't have an ounce of meat on them anyway. We are deluged from television
and magazines as to what is the "perfect" image and we are all going
crazy destroying our health, our lean muscle mass, and our egos trying
to look like that. Most of us think that we could look like that if....we
had nothing else to do or had a private chef to shop and prepare the
right foods. etc. I used to say that myself during my own personal
battle of the bulge that started this journey, "I could do well
if it weren't for kids, a thin husband and my genes!"
So what are the answers? That's simple.
There are none! But you can have success in being healthy, fit and
wearing smaller sizes.
Now that we got that out of the way, what we do here at Healthy Tools
is offer a common sense approach with real life solutions. Our solutions
can help you become a "normal" person dealing comfortably with the
world of food and yourself.
It's not a matter of the "right" diet. That's a personal choice for
you to make. What I can tell you is that after years of experience
and private coaching, we all can't follow a food plan--even one that
is "customized" for you. I know there are people that if you told
them to eat noting but....That is exactly what they would do and not
deviate! Personally, I am not one of them. What I have discovered,
is the fact that we all have a particular behavior style that influences
how we "stick" to a "plan". Understanding this concept will be the
first step in understanding how you should go about creating a way
of eating and exercising (yes, my brothers and sisters, exercising
is still important). This isn't mandatory, but if you are a "seasoned
dieter" and had minimal success in the past, or yo-yoed, this may
help explain what needs to be done differently.
What we strive to do here is provide some basic knowledge, some good
support tools if you need them, and a commonsense approach that will
stay with you as you navigate through the world of foods.
